Status and limits

The graph-native authoring, citation, Inquiry, proposal-review, edition, and public-route contracts described in these docs are live at sponge.computer. Public /k resolution is live. Knowledge records, reviewed editions, and release-gated read-only /k pages are readable without a session; authoring, review, and release controls require sign-in.

Document proposals

Opt-in document proposals are live: with Propose changes on, an agent's document edits wait as ghost, diff, or struck blocks until the owner accepts, rejects, or edits them.

Knowledge service and public pages

The graph-native knowledge service, reviewed editions, and release-gated read-only /k pages are live at sponge.computer. Public /k resolution is live.

Agent API

The v1 agent API, revision-fenced semantic document mutations, durable research jobs, optional report-acceptance contracts, report export, the OpenAPI contract, the discovery manifest, and the downloadable skill are live. The live research pressure test reached its required human-review barrier.

Documents

Versioned rich documents, durable history, bounded collaboration, visible agent plans, editable queued chat turns, native evidence files, and lossless recovery are live for signed-in workspaces.

Blocks

Stable nested blocks, block-scoped collaboration, large-document outline search, and bounded agent edits are implemented.

Markdown

Loss-aware Markdown import and export, canonical preview, issue reporting, and lossless recovery import and export are implemented.

Citations

The authenticated Source and evidence picker, prose and code-block graph citations, safe rich paste, and public bibliography projection are implemented. Public citations show the source title, publication year, and kind when the research recorded them.

Proposals and review

Agents can submit bounded knowledge proposals; humans claim, inspect, accept, reject, or return them, and separately propose public promotion.

Ontology

The seven-concept kernel, typed values, versioned vocabularies, composable Shapes, and immutable graph records are implemented. No domain concept is a privileged root kind.

Inquiries

Private Inquiry creation, durable graph bootstrap, research events, proposal review, and recovery are live for signed-in workspaces.

Editions

Supported synthesis staging, human review, immutable finalization, explicit publication enablement, release, and public /k locators are implemented. A released edition page reads as an article titled by its question, with numbered passages, cited sources, a colophon, and a Markdown projection.

Sharing

Every public surface requires an explicit, purpose-bound boundary; a review decision alone never makes knowledge public. Public /k locators bind an artifact identity to an exact graph revision or edition.

These journeys work, and their coverage is still widening. A hedge here means the behavior is documented as implemented but its verification across accounts, browsers, and devices is not complete.

Signed-in journeys

Signed-in review and publishing journeys are live; their authenticated end-to-end verification remains in progress.

Browsers and devices

The editor's native browser and device matrix remains under broader verification.

Examples

The tutorial and guides follow live authoring, review, citation, and edition workflows; the full authenticated browser and device matrix behind them is still being verified.

Each limitation below is deliberate and visible: the API answers with a specific code, or the editor stops before an action, rather than failing silently. Numeric limits are in the limits reference.

Search and bearer review reads

POST /api/v1/search and GET /api/v1/reviews/{reviewRef} answer 503 TEMPORARILY_UNAVAILABLE without charging the request budget until their separate disclosure boundaries are activated. The search box on /k and on every edition page is live and searches released objects only.

Standalone proposal submission

POST /api/v1/proposals answers 409 AGENT_RUN_REQUIRED; a knowledge proposal reaches review only through a live research job.

Copies that contain citations

Whole-document and block copies containing citations currently stop before a copy is created. Lossless cited duplication will return when the new copy can establish its own verified citation authority.

Acceptance contracts

The current CLI does not construct the optional acceptance object, so a client that needs it sends the report specification as JSON to the API.

Public JSON

Exact released Entity, Inquiry, and Edition JSON remains anonymous and bound to one immutable revision; there is no public listing endpoint beyond the /k index, its feed, and the sitemap.
